Tupelo High School’s Junior Varsity Winter Guard Vortex is under the direction of Marquan McCoy with assistance from Dale Wigginton, Mandy Eaton, and Emily Hercules. Vortex competes in the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit and competes in Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Vortex is the 2023 SCGC Gold Medalist in the Scholastic Novice Class with their production “Won’t You Be My Neighbor”, based off Mr. Fred Rogers of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood.
